The AFMC needs YOUR Help!

Many of you may or may not know, but I am an officer, Treasurer, for the Arizona Film & Media Coalition (AFMC), Inc.,, the group responsible for creating tax incentive legislation to bring outside producers to come to Arizona to shoot. I have been on the board since 2005 and was part of the original group that drafted the initial legislation.

This upcoming legislative session in January 2009 is very important because it will decide the fate on whether or not our bill will be extended beyond the 2010 sunset date. What does this mean? If the bill is not extended, it means that we will no longer be remotely competitive with other states (i.e. New Mexico, Louisiana, etc.) in film production. I know that many actors want more films to be shot here as do I. If our bill goes away, film opportunities will but cease to exist. Now is the time to rally as a market and make sure our bill continues to exist. We are asking for donations to aid in paying our lobbyist for this upcoming session and an economic impact statement. This legislation affects all of us now and in years to come. Please help to keep Arizona competitive with other markets by supporting our cause today. To donate via Paypal, please visit the following link: If you donate, you will be recognized on the AFMC website under "Sponsors."
